CLASSIFICATION:                         Classified

 

FLSA STATUS:                              Non-Exempt

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:              Salary and work year as reviewed and established annually by the Board of Education

 

EVALUATION:                              Performance of this position will be evaluated regularly in accordance with the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified staff.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Assists a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment; assists in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; and provides routine support.  Performs all duties under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. A paraprofessional provides non-instructional services to students necessary for the student to access the district’s facilities and programs.  These services may include willing to ride the bus and assist with transportation needs, ambulatory, eating and toileting assistance.  The job description will serve as a guideline for the summative evaluation report.
